Applied Intuition
Perception & Fusion Engineer
About this role
Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception & Fusion Engineer to develop and integrate real-time sensor fusion algorithms for autonomous vehicles across multiple domains. You'll design autonomous sensor controllers that fuse data from diverse sensor modalities (EO, IR, radar, acoustics, RF) and deploy containerized solutions to embedded systems while collaborating with DoD customers on field demonstrations.
What you'll do
- Develop and integrate AI/ML algorithms for perception autonomy stacks across heterogeneous platforms and sensor suites
- Create software to autonomously control and optimize multiple sensor modalities (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF)
- Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices with computer-in-the-loop testing and performance profiling
- Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams to ensure seamless deployment during on-site DoD testing events
- Interact with DoD customers to understand requirements, triage needs, and deliver superior customer experience during field demonstrations
- Drive simulation tooling for post-processing field test analysis and develop improvement plans based on results
What they're looking for
- Sensor fusion and estimation algorithms (tracking, Kalman filtering, optimization)
- Multi-modal sensor understanding (EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, acoustics)
- ML/AI framework experience (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX)
- C++ and Python development
- Linux and Docker containerization
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) software integration
- Sensor physics and control parameters
- Large-scale dataset processing and analysis
