Applied Intuition
Robotics Integration Engineer (TL)
About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Senior Robotics & Integration Engineer (Tech Lead) to own the end-to-end vehicle platform for autonomous heavy machinery, spanning networking, sensors, middleware, embedded systems, and drive-by-wire controls. You'll lead a team while architecting production-ready systems from prototype through field deployment, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Own full vehicle platform architecture: networking, time sync, sensors, middleware, embedded software, drive-by-wire, and actuation controls
- Design and deliver systems from 0→1 prototypes to reliable production deployments on construction, mining, and agriculture equipment
- Lead and coordinate engineering team: set technical direction, prioritize workstreams, manage cross-functional dependencies
- Partner with customers to define use cases, platform requirements, and drive field integration and deployment
- Build test rigs and validation infrastructure for end-to-end system testing, hardware-in-the-loop verification, and on-vehicle validation
- Debug and troubleshoot complex stack interactions across sensors, networking, actuation, and controls in harsh real-world environments
What they're looking for
- Robotics platform stack (sensors, drivers, networking, middleware like ROS 2/DDS)
- C/C++ development on Linux with real-time systems debugging
- Vehicle actuation and drive-by-wire systems integration
- Electronic systems setup, instrumentation, and debugging
- Time synchronization and networking protocols
- Technical leadership and cross-functional team coordination
- Systems integration and hardware-software co-design
- Production deployment and field validation
