Software Engineer - Control Center
About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Software Engineer for the Control Center team to build the operational platform that connects autonomous vehicle fleets to human operators. You'll architect low-latency, safety-critical backend systems handling telemetry, digital twins, mission orchestration, and geofencing across cloud and on-premise deployments.
What you'll do
- Architect and maintain critical control center subsystems for telemetry ingestion, asset tracking, and mission orchestration
- Design cloud and edge services for safety-critical operations including geofencing, proximity alerts, and remote execution
- Collaborate with autonomy, perception, and vehicle teams to establish APIs, data protocols, and state synchronization
- Build resilient data pipelines transforming high-volume vehicle metrics into actionable intelligence for customers
- Deploy and harden SaaS services across public cloud, private infrastructure, and air-gapped on-premise environments
- Partner with field engineers to debug live operations, resolve edge cases, and improve platform reliability

- Go, C++, or Python backend development
- Distributed systems design and implementation
- High-throughput streaming architectures (Kafka, gRPC, event-driven systems)
- Data modeling and API design with focus on reliability and fault tolerance
- Production operations: CI/CD, observability, on-call, root-cause analysis
- Kubernetes deployment across cloud and on-prem environments
- Robotics protocols (CAN, MQTT, DDS, SOME/IP)
- Safety-critical and regulated domain experience
