About this role

Armada seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical designs for modular, ruggedized data centers deployed globally. You'll own the design process from conception through field commissioning, collaborating directly with manufacturing partners, vendors, and deployment teams across multiple time zones in a hands-on, shipping-focused role.

What you'll do

  • Develop electrical designs for modular data centers including single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, grounding, cable sizing, and raceway layouts for multiple voltage standards
  • Execute protective device coordination, arc flash, and short-circuit studies using tools like SKM or ETAP; produce field-ready labels and reports
  • Review and redline vendor submittals for UPS, battery, cooling, switchgear, PDUs, and generator systems; ensure specification compliance
  • Support manufacturing partners by responding to RFIs, resolving layout conflicts, and participating in factory witness testing
  • Navigate multi-jurisdictional electrical, fire, and mission-critical facility codes while coordinating with local authorities
  • Generate engineering documentation including Statements of Requirements, design memos, block diagrams, and commissioning procedures

What they're looking for

  • Electrical design for data centers and modular systems
  • Power systems analysis and protective device coordination
  • Arc flash and short-circuit study software (SKM, ETAP)
  • Low-voltage distribution systems (480V and international standards)
  • Vendor submittal review and specification management
  • Multi-jurisdictional electrical and building codes
  • Manufacturing and commissioning support
  • Technical documentation and engineering communication
