About this role

Astranis is seeking a Flight Software Intern for a 12-week winter 2027 position to develop embedded and ground control software for satellites in high orbit. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on meaningful projects that directly impact hardware launching to space, with many past interns transitioning to full-time roles.

What you'll do

  • Design, write, and test embedded software running on satellites
  • Develop ground control software for satellite operations
  • Create testing software for validation and verification
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on software architecture and implementation
  • Debug and troubleshoot flight software issues

  • C/C++ programming
  • Scripting languages (Python, bash, etc.)
  • Software design and testing from scratch
  • Embedded systems (bare metal preferred)
  • Real-time operating systems (bonus)
  • FPGA or DSP programming (bonus)
