About this role
Join Astranis's Propulsion team as a summer intern designing, building, and testing spacecraft propulsion hardware. This 12-week hourly role offers hands-on experience with real satellite systems that fly to orbit, alongside mentorship from experienced engineers in the space communications industry.
What you'll do
- Design, analyze, build, and test propulsion system hardware components
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams on propulsion-related projects
- Support company initiatives and propulsion team objectives
- Apply academic knowledge to practical spacecraft engineering challenges
- Participate in hardware testing and validation activities
- Document design processes and test results
What they're looking for
- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering fundamentals
- Spacecraft systems design and operation knowledge
- Hands-on hardware design, fabrication, and testing experience
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Python programming (preferred)
- Chemical and/or electrical propulsion system familiarity (preferred)
- Technical communication and documentation
- Teamwork and collaboration
