About this role
Join Astranis's Software Defined Radio hardware team as a summer intern, designing and testing cutting-edge satellite radio hardware that flies on orbital systems. You'll work hands-on in the lab, write testing automation code, and contribute to hardware that powers secure communications for enterprises and governments worldwide.
What you'll do
- Design, simulate, implement, and test software defined radio hardware systems
- Bring up and debug hardware in the lab using professional test instruments
- Write code to evaluate performance and automate hardware testing
- Integrate radio systems into spacecraft in collaboration with engineering teams
- Conduct PCBA design and validation for satellite communication systems
What they're looking for
- Analog circuit design (op amps, transistors, filters)
- Digital design (FPGAs, SOCs, SERDES, DDR, LVDS)
- Mixed-signal design (ADCs, DACs, power integrity)
- RF design and analysis (S-parameters, impedance matching)
- PCB design (Altium Designer or equivalent)
- Lab bench equipment operation (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer)
- Python or similar programming language
- Soldering and hardware rework
