About this role
Join Astranis's Platform team as a Backend Software Engineer Intern to design and build mission-critical services that control satellites, monitor telemetry, and ensure fleet safety. You'll work on high-performance systems that command spacecraft and enable real-time situational awareness for government and commercial customers.
What you'll do
- Design and build high-performance, reliable backend services for satellite command and control
- Develop features that autonomously control satellites and monitor telemetry for anomalies
- Take full ownership of assigned features across backend and infrastructure layers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define software requirements and system architectures
- Build core platform components that enable other engineering teams to move faster
- Contribute to systems supporting both commercial and U.S. government space programs
