Sales Engineer
About this role
Join Astronomer as a Sales Engineer to help enterprise clients implement Apache Airflow-based data workflows and solve complex orchestration challenges. You'll partner with technical teams on proof-of-concepts, provide expert guidance on the DataOps platform, and shape product strategy through customer insights.
What you'll do
- Design and deploy proof-of-concept solutions for customers tackling data workflow challenges
- Conduct technical demonstrations and advise engineering teams on platform capabilities
- Create technical content and contribute to the Apache Airflow community as a thought leader
- Gather field insights and provide product feedback to influence platform development
- Support customers through implementation from concept to production
- Develop expertise in workflow orchestration and the broader data engineering landscape

- Apache Airflow and workflow orchestration
- Data engineering concepts (ELT, RBAC, Git)
- Solutions/Sales Engineering
- Technical communication and presentation
- Python scripting (preferred)
- Experience with modern data tools (Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, Tableau)
- Customer empathy and problem-solving
- Open-source data tools knowledge
