Scan to BIM Engineer
About this role
Join an early-stage AI startup building scan-to-BIM technology that converts real-world point cloud data into structured 3D BIM models for construction. You'll work on the complete pipeline from point cloud capture through mesh generation and IFC output, collaborating with a technical team to transform how buildings are designed and planned.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize the point-cloud-to-BIM conversion pipeline including model creation and mesh generation
- Process and interpret point cloud capture data, IFC files, and 3D modeling outputs
- Apply computer vision techniques to improve 3D reconstruction accuracy and automation
- Work with 3D modeling tools like Blender to refine outputs and validate results
- Collaborate with construction and engineering teams to ensure real-world applicability
- Travel to San Francisco quarterly for in-person team gatherings
