Welding Engineer Intern
About this role
Axis Automation seeks a Welding Engineer Intern to support the design and implementation of custom automated welding systems. You'll create technical documentation, conduct destructive testing, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to process improvements across diverse automation projects.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and document welding systems for automated equipment
- Create and revise welding documents including WPS, PQR, weld maps, and destructive testing reports
- Develop internal and external welding specifications for various processes
- Inspect automated welding work completed in-house
- Troubleshoot weld, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues
- Learn basic programming skills and assist with equipment analysis
