Axon
Electrical Engineer II, Video Products, Sustaining
About this role
Electrical Engineer II supporting Axon's video product line by maintaining and improving in-market electronics designs for body cameras, vehicle systems, and docking stations. You'll handle component obsolescence, design optimization, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to sustain world-class products throughout their lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Update circuit designs to address component obsolescence, cost reduction, and post-launch improvements for mass-produced electronics
- Execute bench verification and performance evaluation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and lab equipment
- Debug, analyze failures, and rework electronic systems, circuits, and components
- Update schematics and PCB layouts using OrCAD Capture and Allegro tools; collaborate with PCB design engineers
- Test RF performance of wireless subsystems including cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS
- Support global regulatory compliance teams with sample prep, documentation, and debug for FCC, IC, CE, and PTCRB certifications
What they're looking for
- Analog and digital circuit design
- Schematic capture (OrCAD/Cadence preferred)
- PCB layout tools (Allegro or equivalent)
- High-speed design (USB 3.x, Ethernet, DDR memory)
- RF integration and testing (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GNSS, cellular)
- Lab equipment operation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers)
- Component selection and alternate-source identification
- Regulatory compliance testing (FCC, CE, PTCRB)
