About this role
Axon's Dedrone division seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer II to lead innovative counter-UAS hardware development from concept through production. You'll own mechanical design, thermal analysis, and prototyping while collaborating across electrical engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Drive product development from conceptualization through manufacturing with focus on durability and reliability
- Lead ideation and design of subsystem and system-level architectural concepts using creative problem-solving
- Build and analyze high-fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes
- Perform mechanical analysis including FEA, tolerance analysis, and testing to ensure proper function
- Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders on design requirements and specifications
- Document design specifications, production processes, and compliance requirements
