About this role
Axon/Dedrone seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer II to lead the design and development of next-generation counter-UAS hardware from concept through production. You'll own mechanical design, thermal analysis, prototyping, and system integration while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced innovation environment.
What you'll do
- Drive product development from conceptualization through manufacturing with focus on durability and reliability
- Lead ideation and design of subsystem and system-level architectural concepts using creative problem-solving
- Build and analyze high-fidelity prototypes and proof-of-concept designs
- Perform mechanical analysis via FEA, tolerance analysis, and testing to ensure proper function
- Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders across product, electrical, design, and manufacturing teams
- Document and manage design specifications, production processes, and compliance requirements
