About this role
Axon's Dedrone division seeks a Sales Engineer II to drive pre-sales technical excellence for their AI-powered drone detection and airspace security platform targeting federal, commercial, and military customers. You'll combine deep product expertise with customer-facing acumen to guide prospects through evaluations, deliver compelling presentations, and remove technical barriers to closing deals.
What you'll do
- Master Dedrone's drone detection and C2 platform technology and competitive positioning
- Lead technical presentations and RFP responses for C-suite and IT decision-makers
- Provide first-level technical support during pre-sales cycles and manage POC/pilot programs
- Develop Statements of Work and coordinate Professional Services engagements
- Represent the company at industry conferences and field events with 50% travel
- Capture customer requirements, gather product feedback, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
What they're looking for
- Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, PoE, Ethernet, 802.11)
- Linux administration and basic security concepts (IPsec, InfoSec)
- SaaS sales and pre-sales consulting (3–5 years required)
- Physical security and IP camera systems knowledge
- Drone technology familiarity and flight experience (desired)
- Technical presentation and communication skills
- SOW and technical documentation development
- Independent problem-solving with cross-functional collaboration
