System Test Engineer II
About this role
Axon is seeking a System Test Engineer II to design and execute comprehensive test strategies for counter-UAS (CUAS) systems, covering hardware/software integration, RF detection, computer vision, and active threat mitigation. You'll own testing from prototype through production, conduct live field trials with threat-representative drones, and ensure systems perform reliably against real-world threats.
What you'll do
- Own system-level test strategy for CUAS product lines from prototype through field deployment
- Design and execute integration tests across RF sensors, radar, EO/IR, acoustic sensors, computer vision, jamming, networking, and third-party integrations
- Plan and conduct field test campaigns flying threat-representative drones and executing detect-track-ID-defeat runs
- Build and maintain test tooling, automation, data capture, regression automation, and hardware simulation environments
- Collect, analyze, and report test metrics; translate field data into actionable insights for leadership and engineering teams
- Triage multi-system failures across hardware, firmware, software, RF, and network layers; reproduce intermittent field issues
What they're looking for
- System integration and field test & evaluation
- RF/wireless validation and spectrum analysis
- Hardware/software integration testing
- Test automation frameworks
- Environmental and reliability testing
- Debugging across hardware, RF, network, and software layers
- CUAS or counter-drone systems experience
