About this role

Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design and deploy a cloud-based 911 emergency platform, managing VoIP infrastructure, real-time communication services, and customer onboarding for public safety agencies. You'll ensure high availability, security compliance, and seamless interoperability across critical emergency response systems.

What you'll do

  • Integrate and deploy cloud-based real-time communication and VoIP signaling services for 911 infrastructure
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Carbyne's emergency communication platform
  • Design customized UC solutions and manage customer onboarding with technical specifications
  • Install and maintain PBX projects and unified communications infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and training to operations teams on emergency communications systems
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, sales, and product teams on UC-related initiatives

What they're looking for

  • VoIP architecture and open-source UC platforms (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
  • SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC protocols and troubleshooting
  • Audio/video codecs, encryption, and network transport
  • Linux and bash scripting
  • Networking fundamentals and OSI model (layers 1-7)
  • AWS cloud deployment and private/public cloud security
  • Docker and Kubernetes (preferred)
  • Technical documentation and solution design
