About this role
Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design and deploy a cloud-based emergency communications platform for 911 infrastructure. You'll integrate VoIP and RTC services, ensure high availability and security compliance, and bridge Engineering and Operations teams for public safety innovation.
What you'll do
- Deploy and configure cloud-based VoIP and RTC signaling services for 911 emergency platforms
- Troubleshoot and maintain highly available, multi-tenant communication infrastructure
- Design customized UC solutions and technical specifications aligned with customer requirements
- Onboard new customers and provide technical support and training to Operations teams
- Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Sales, and Product teams on UC-related initiatives
- Manage PBX and UC solution installation, integration, and maintenance

- VoIP architecture and deployment (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
- SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC protocols and troubleshooting
- Networking and OSI model expertise (Layers 1-7)
- Linux administration and bash scripting
- AWS cloud deployment and networking
- Video/audio codec knowledge and encryption
- Docker and Kubernetes (preferred)
- Network security and high-availability systems design
