About this role
Axon seeks an experienced Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain a cloud-based emergency communications platform for 911 services. You'll integrate advanced VoIP and RTC systems ensuring high availability, security, and compliance while collaborating with operations, engineering, and business teams.
What you'll do
- Integrate and deploy highly available, multi-tenant RTC and VoIP signaling services for emergency communications
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Carbyne's emergency communication platform and PBX projects
- Onboard new customers by implementing customized UC solutions aligned with requirements and best practices
- Create and maintain technical specifications, solution documents, and deployment guides
- Provide technical support and training to the Operations team on 911 systems
- Liaison between Engineering and Business teams on unified communications activities

- VoIP architecture and protocols (SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC)
- Open-source UC platforms (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
- Linux administration and bash scripting
- Networking and OSI model (layers 1-7)
- AWS and cloud deployment (private and public)
- Audio/video codecs, encryption, and transport mechanisms
- Docker and Kubernetes
- VoIP troubleshooting and performance optimization
