About this role
Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain a cloud-based emergency real-time communication platform for 911 infrastructure. You'll integrate VoIP and RTC services ensuring high availability, security compliance, and five-nines uptime while collaborating with operations, engineering, and business teams.
What you'll do
- Configure, troubleshoot, and deploy Carbyne's emergency communication platform and VoIP infrastructure
- Install, integrate, and maintain PBX and unified communications solutions for new and existing customers
- Design customized communication solutions aligned with customer requirements and best practices
- Create and maintain technical specifications and solution architecture documentation
- Lead customer onboarding activities ensuring compliance with requirements and SLAs
- Provide technical support and training to operations teams on 911 emergency systems

- VoIP architecture and open-source UC platforms (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
- SIP, SDP, RTP, and WebRTC protocols with troubleshooting expertise
- Networking fundamentals and deep OSI model knowledge (layers 1-7)
- Linux administration and bash scripting
- AWS cloud deployment on private and public networks
- Audio/video codecs, encryption, and transport protocols
- Docker and Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
- Network security and compliance standards
