About this role

Bedrock is seeking a Reliability Engineer to own hardware reliability for autonomous construction equipment. You'll establish reliability requirements, lead design reviews (DFMEA/FTA), build test programs, and ensure machines operate reliably in harsh real-world construction environments.

What you'll do

  • Define hardware reliability strategy, requirements, and targets (MTBF, availability) across compute, sensors, power, and actuation subsystems
  • Plan and lead Design FMEAs and Fault Tree Analysis across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems to identify and mitigate failure modes
  • Design and execute HALT/HASS, accelerated life testing, and environmental durability tests (vibration, thermal, dust, corrosion)
  • Build reliability models, predictions, and Weibull analyses to forecast field performance and inform design trade-offs
  • Establish Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System; lead root-cause investigations and drive fixes from field data into design
  • Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and field teams to embed reliability into product development and NPI gates
