About this role
Vercel is seeking a Software Engineer for its Platform team to build internal observability systems that provide visibility into infrastructure, cost attribution, and deployment metrics. You'll design high-scale systems for logs, metrics, and traces while partnering with backend teams to instrument services and reduce reliance on third-party tools.
What you'll do
- Design and build observability systems (metrics, logs, traces) for internal infrastructure visibility
- Develop cost attribution and chargeback tooling to map spending to business units
- Instrument services with backend and platform teams for compliance and auditing
- Evaluate and integrate observability tools from CNCF ecosystem and existing vendors
- Scale observability infrastructure to handle Vercel's production traffic volume
- Ship pragmatic, high-leverage visibility solutions that improve system operations
