Software Engineer IV, Payment Platform
About this role
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions seeks a Senior Engineer IV to own the transaction-processing core of their payment platform, managing terminal transport, store-and-forward logic, and card routing. This hands-on role focuses on debugging production issues, mastering payment flows, and advancing toward payment architecture leadership.
What you'll do
- Own TCP transport layer between terminals and payment platform, including heartbeat, keepalive, reconnect, and timeout handling
- Manage store-and-forward (SAF) logic to handle declined or unreachable authorizations without incorrectly queuing legitimate declines
- Troubleshoot terminal-level failures and perform root-cause analysis through production defect resolution
- Implement BIN-based routing and exception fallback logic to ensure reliable card-present payments
- Work with transaction-state code and terminal protocols to improve payment transaction integrity
- Advance to architectural ownership of payment transport and transaction-integrity layers within the first year
