About this role
A1 is hiring a Software Engineer to build and maintain a cross-platform desktop application powered by AI. You'll own the desktop experience, focusing on reliability, performance, and real-time behavior while integrating AI-powered features through backend APIs.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain cross-platform desktop applications using Electron for macOS and Windows
- Design responsive UIs for real-time collaboration and manage large local state efficiently
- Implement desktop-specific functionality including file system access, notifications, auto-updates, and deep linking
- Integrate AI-powered features (chat, agents, assistance) via backend APIs
- Optimize startup time, memory usage, and runtime performance through profiling
- Ensure smooth real-time updates and maintain stability across platforms
