About this role

Blissway, a lean startup revolutionizing highway tolling with advanced hardware and IoT systems, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and maintain ultra-reliable roadside infrastructure. You'll own the full hardware lifecycle—from schematics and PCB design to manufacturing optimization—while collaborating across a small, fast-moving team in Denver.

What you'll do

  • Design and optimize schematics, PCBs, housings, and cabling for roadside tolling hardware
  • Ensure 99.99% reliability of power systems, cellular connectivity, and sensor networks in harsh outdoor environments
  • Write embedded code (Python/C++) that bridges hardware constraints with software requirements
  • Lead CAD iterations to improve manufacturing yield and device serviceability
  • Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting of physical systems in the field
  • Collaborate across hardware and software teams to integrate edge computing solutions

What they're looking for

  • Circuit design and PCB layout (Altium preferred)
  • CAD software (Onshape or equivalent)
  • Embedded systems programming (Python, C++)
  • Hardware prototyping (microcontrollers, sensors, IoT devices)
  • Electronics troubleshooting (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
  • Power system design and optimization
  • Weatherproofing and outdoor deployment experience
  • Linux and cloud infrastructure (AWS)

Benefits

  • Relocation bonus to Denver with support for in-person collaboration
  • Personalized health coverage allowance (ICHRA) for you and dependents
  • 401(k) matching up to 4%
  • Hybrid work model with in-office engineering shop access
  • Opportunity to impact critical infrastructure across major US highways
  • Lean, high-ownership environment with direct feedback and learning
