About this role
Block seeks a Software Engineer to design and operate card issuing services powering Cash App and other financial products at massive scale. You'll own features end-to-end across card issuance, transaction processing, and disputes while working within microservice and event-driven architectures that handle millions of daily transactions.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and ship features across card issuance, transaction processing, and disputes systems
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and actively participate in design and code reviews
- Design systems using microservice and event-driven architectures with reliability and correctness for financial operations
- Participate in operational ownership of tier-0 financial systems including on-call, incident response, and postmortems
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve velocity and quality throughout the development lifecycle
- Mentor teammates through code reviews and technical discussions while maintaining high engineering standards
