Software Engineering Residency Program
About this role
An 11.5-week paid residency program (January–March 2027) designed to develop early-career software engineers into full-time associate roles at Bluestaq. Residents work on real production systems supporting U.S. Space Force customers, gaining hands-on experience across multiple technology stacks under engineering mentorship, culminating in a capstone presentation.
What you'll do
- Contribute to real backlog items on production systems serving U.S. Space Force customers
- Work across multiple technology stacks including Java, Python, Angular, REST services, and cloud platforms
- Pair with experienced engineer-mentors to learn secure development practices and architectural patterns
- Deliver a midpoint demo and capstone presentation showcasing completed work to engineering leadership
- Participate in onboarding week covering development tools, security practices, and infrastructure setup
- Collaborate in a team-centric environment on full-stack and data platform projects
