About this role

Box seeks a Software Engineer III to design and build backend services and infrastructure automation for its Edge network platform. You'll transform manual network processes into scalable, self-serve capabilities using Python and Terraform, partnering with internal teams to improve reliability and developer experience.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement backend services in Python that expose network capabilities to application and service owners
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for network resource provisioning and management
  • Translate partner requests into automated workflows that replace manual, ticket-driven processes
  • Integrate observability, guardrails, and auditability into network automation systems
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to reliability, security, and usability decisions
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage production issues
