Substrate PAVC Engineer
About this role
Blueprint seeks a Substrate PAVC Engineer to manage Windows patching, antivirus updates, and vulnerability compliance across large-scale Microsoft Substrate environments. You'll use PowerShell, Kusto queries, and diagnostic tools to deploy patches, troubleshoot failures, and maintain security compliance across distributed server fleets.
What you'll do
- Execute monthly Windows security patch rollouts including official, prerelease, Defender, and .NET updates
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts for patch deployment, investigation, and reporting
- Query and analyze patch deployment results using Kusto Query Language to identify failure patterns and compliance gaps
- Troubleshoot failed Windows updates using Event Viewer, CBS logs, DISM, and other diagnostic tools
- Build and validate patching components following Safe Deployment Practices across deployment rings
- Investigate and remediate deployment failures caused by installation issues, network problems, or environment blockers
