About this role
CesiumAstro is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer II to develop and maintain embedded Linux systems for satellite and airborne platforms. You'll work on device drivers, kernel customization, Yocto build systems, and board bring-up while collaborating with hardware and FPGA teams in a dynamic space technology environment.
What you'll do
- Develop and port embedded Linux applications, device drivers, and libraries for satellite and airborne systems
- Configure, customize, and integrate Linux kernels and bootloaders like U-Boot
- Maintain and evolve Yocto-based build systems within CI/CD pipelines
- Package and deploy software images for diverse embedded hardware platforms
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and FPGA engineers on integration and performance
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical documentation and customer proposals
