About this role
CesiumAstro seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer II to develop and maintain embedded Linux systems for satellite and airborne communication platforms. You'll work on device drivers, kernel customization, and Yocto build systems while collaborating across hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams on mission-critical space technology.
What you'll do
- Develop and port embedded Linux applications, device drivers, and libraries for space and airborne platforms
- Configure, customize, and integrate Linux kernels and bootloaders like U-Boot for embedded systems
- Maintain and evolve Yocto-based build systems within CI/CD pipelines
- Package and deploy software images across diverse embedded hardware platforms
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers on integration and performance
- Participate in design reviews and create technical documentation for customers
