Data Engineer

About this role

CGS is hiring a mid-level Data Engineer in Dallas to design and maintain data pipelines supporting federal analytics and business intelligence solutions. You'll work within an Agile environment to build ETL processes, manage complex datasets, and enable clients to derive actionable insights from data.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain data pipelines for extracting, storing, and provisioning data from multiple sources
• Design and implement ETL processes with testing and validation procedures
• Write performant code for data extraction and processing operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and UX specialists
• Implement CI/CD practices and maintain code through version control systems
• Document complex requirements and communicate technical solutions to stakeholders

• Python, R, SQL, or SAS for data manipulation
• ETL process development and testing
• Big data analysis and storage technologies
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Git and version control systems
• Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
