Reservoir Engineer
About this role
Charm seeks a Reservoir Engineer to manage the technical and regulatory aspects of permanent carbon storage through bio-oil injection. You'll own both the subsurface engineering—building injection strategies and reservoir models—and the permitting side, drafting Class V UIC applications and engaging with regulators to keep operations on track.
What you'll do
- Draft and steward Class V UIC permit applications for EPA and state programs, translating reservoir analysis into regulatory narratives
- Monitor subsurface reservoir response using pressure data, tracer surveys, and logs to identify anomalies and optimize injection performance
- Build analytical tools to track injection metrics, flag deviations, and forecast reservoir problems
- Develop well-by-well and portfolio-level injection forecasts to guide capital allocation and business planning
- Design and execute subsurface studies including formation characterization, reservoir modeling, and lab projects
- Travel as needed to support operations, new well development, and permitting activities
