Join Citizen as an iOS Engineer to own core pieces of America's #1 safety app, rebuilding it from the ground up using Swift 6 and AI agents. You'll combine exceptional iOS craftsmanship with AI-assisted development to ship real-time safety features at scale, working in a small team in New York.

What you'll do

  • Own and ship core iOS product features including live video/broadcast, real-time alerts, maps, or paid experiences
  • Write production Swift code with strict concurrency, architected with The Composable Architecture (TCA)
  • Propose, run, and oversee AI agents for code generation, review, testing, and instrumentation while maintaining quality gates
  • Participate in weekly Release Captain rotation to manage release cycles, bug fixes, and crash triage
  • Partner with backend, design, product, and data teams on real-time contracts, instrumentation, and analytics
  • Drive initiatives as an owner or builder, making decisions on scope, sequencing, and technical tradeoffs
