Founding AI Engineer

About this role

Join a seed-stage construction tech startup as a founding AI engineer to build computer vision and multimodal AI systems that extract actionable insights from blueprints and construction documents. You'll own the intelligence layer, rapidly prototype models, and directly shape the product direction while working on real-world problems impacting housing, hospitals, and schools.

What you'll do

• Design and deploy production computer vision and multimodal AI models on noisy construction documents
• Own the intelligence layer including model architecture, data pipelines, and inference systems
• Rapidly prototype and iterate models based on user feedback and real-world data
• Build end-to-end AI systems handling heterogeneous inputs like permits, blueprints, and cost estimates
• Collaborate with product and end users to identify and solve high-impact problems
• Execute practical engineering work including data labeling, ETL, and deployment as part of a small team
