Founding Engineer (Applied AI)

About this role

Join an early-stage construction-tech AI startup as a Founding Engineer to design and deploy computer vision and ML systems that automate blueprint analysis and cost estimation. You'll own the intelligence layer, ship prototypes rapidly, and directly impact the product's core capabilities in a fast-moving startup environment.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and iterate on computer vision and AI systems for blueprint parsing and material takeoff automation
• Apply cutting-edge CV models, LLMs, and AI tools to solve production problems
• Ship prototypes quickly, gather user feedback, and drive rapid improvement cycles
• Orchestrate and coordinate multiple ML models within a model-garden architecture
• Handle foundational engineering work across the stack at the earliest stage
• Collaborate across the team to translate ambiguous problems into working systems

What they're looking for

• Computer vision and machine learning (production experience required)
• Python programming and deep learning frameworks
• 0-to-1 product development and prototyping
• Large language models and modern AI tooling
• Model orchestration and system architecture
• Clear communication and technical tradeoff analysis
• Background in autonomous systems, robotics, or top AI companies
• Construction industry knowledge (bonus)
