About this role

Join a Seed-stage AI infrastructure startup as a Founding Engineer to design and build high-throughput backend systems powering an LLM gateway. You'll own core architecture decisions, work directly with founders, and shape the technical direction of a company serving billions of tokens daily.

What you'll do

  • Design and build core backend infrastructure for a production-grade AI gateway handling high throughput and sub-20ms latency requirements
  • Architect microservices systems using Go for the LLM gateway and Python for ML/AI services
  • Make critical decisions on distributed systems design, database selection, caching strategies, and API platform architecture
  • Profile and optimize performance for latency-sensitive, high-traffic systems
  • Deploy, manage, and scale services using Kubernetes in production
  • Collaborate with founders to translate product vision into scalable engineering solutions
