About this role
Oklo seeks a Shielding Analysis Engineer to develop and execute radiation shielding and transport analyses supporting advanced reactor design, safety evaluation, and regulatory compliance. The role involves Monte Carlo modeling, dose assessment, and close collaboration with design teams to optimize shielding performance.
What you'll do
- Conduct radiation transport and shielding analyses using Monte Carlo codes (MCNP, SCALE, OpenMC, Serpent)
- Perform source term, activation, streaming, and dose-rate calculations for reactor facilities
- Support verification, validation, and qualification of shielding analyses against benchmarks and experiments
- Collaborate with design teams to define shielding requirements and scope of evaluations
- Provide technical feedback to iterating design teams and support licensing interactions
- Document analyses and write technical reports using modern tools and techniques
