Founding Engineer - ML Research

About this role

Join an early-stage AI/ML company as a founding engineer to design and train advanced machine learning models including LLMs and diffusion models. You'll build scalable experimentation pipelines, collaborate across teams to optimize training, and establish research standards while working directly with the founding team in Mountain View.

What you'll do

• Design, train, and evaluate ML models including LLMs, diffusion models, and domain-specific architectures
• Develop scalable experimentation pipelines for data, model training, and evaluation workflows
• Optimize training throughput and data quality in collaboration with data and infrastructure teams
• Contribute to internal benchmarks, open research, and emerging techniques in multimodal and generative AI
• Prototype research insights rapidly and productionize them into usable tools and models
• Establish foundational standards for research rigor, documentation, and reproducibility
