About this role

Cogent Security is seeking a Founding IT Engineer to build and scale their IT infrastructure from the ground up across multiple offices. You'll own endpoints, identity management, vendor operations, physical infrastructure, and end-user support while automating processes and defining secure AI tool usage policies.

What you'll do

  • Provision and manage endpoints with MDM, patching, and fleet inventory tracking
  • Implement and maintain SSO, MFA, role-based access control, and automated user lifecycle management
  • Oversee SaaS vendor management including licensing, renewals, and cost tracking
  • Manage physical IT infrastructure (network switches, routers, access control, cameras) across San Francisco and New York offices
  • Provide end-user IT support and on-call availability for critical issues
  • Build automation using Python, n8n, Zapier, and AI-assisted tools to eliminate repetitive work
