Cognition
Network Engineer
About this role
Cognition AI is seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate reliable, secure global networks across offices and cloud infrastructure. This onsite role combines hands-on network architecture with automation, observability, and security to support hypergrowth infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Design and operate high-performance wired and wireless networks with RF optimization, VLANs, routing protocols, and redundant connectivity
- Own end-to-end network delivery for office expansions, moves, and global scaling including procurement, circuit turn-up, and vendor coordination
- Build repeatable reference architectures, standards, runbooks, and deployment playbooks for growing infrastructure footprint
- Develop monitoring and observability for availability, performance, and capacity; use telemetry to identify degradation proactively
- Automate network operations using Python, Go, or TypeScript with infrastructure-as-code, APIs, and CI/CD practices
- Implement secure, identity-aware access controls, segmentation, and partner with Security on firewalls and incident response
What they're looking for
- Enterprise and campus network design and operations
- Wireless RF engineering and optimization
- Switching, routing, and VPC technologies (VLAN, LACP, OSPF, BGP, VRF, QoS)
- Network monitoring and observability tools and telemetry
- Python, Go, or TypeScript scripting and automation
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and zero-trust remote access
- Infrastructure-as-code and API-driven network configuration
- OSI model troubleshooting and packet analysis
