About this role

Coinbase is seeking a backend software engineer to build money movement infrastructure enabling stablecoin-based payments, deposits, and withdrawals. You'll own end-to-end projects as a Directly Responsible Individual, designing distributed systems and APIs that power fast, secure transfers across the Coinbase ecosystem and beyond.

What you'll do

  • Own stablecoin money movement features end-to-end as DRI, from system design through production deployment
  • Design and build backend systems, infrastructure, and APIs enabling businesses to embed stablecoin payments
  • Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance to translate requirements into scalable solutions
  • Identify and fix performance, scalability, and reliability bottlenecks in distributed systems
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute architectural patterns to raise engineering standards
  • Write technical design documents and communicate architecture trade-offs to stakeholders
