Mechanical + Hardware Design Engineer
About this role
Coram AI seeks a Mechanical + Hardware Design Engineer to own the end-to-end development of electromechanical assemblies for next-generation security and edge-AI systems. You'll manage design, prototyping, manufacturing partnerships, and field deployment in a fast-paced startup environment focused on AI-powered video security.
What you'll do
- Lead mechanical and electromechanical design from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT production phases
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure quality and on-time delivery
- Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) across sheet metal and injection molding processes
- Balance performance, cost, and manufacturing constraints in product development
- Execute rapidly across multiple concurrent workstreams with accountability
- Handle thermal, vibration, and environmental design validation for rugged deployment
