About this role
Design and operate highly reliable global media delivery systems at Crunchyroll, architecting multi-cloud, multi-CDN infrastructure to stream video to millions of customers worldwide. You'll build fault-tolerant replication, intelligent traffic routing, and comprehensive observability to maximize streaming availability and performance across regions.
What you'll do
- Architect and operate scalable content replication and multi-origin storage systems for playback resilience
- Build multi-CDN delivery infrastructure with intelligent global traffic routing based on performance and cost
- Design fault-tolerant AWS and GCP cloud architectures eliminating single points of failure
- Develop high-volume networking solutions between cloud origins, CDNs, and playback services
- Implement end-to-end observability including metrics, tracing, logging, SLOs, and alerts via Datadog
- Own full service lifecycles including design, deployment, on-call response, and continuous optimization

- Distributed systems design and operation at scale
- TypeScript or modern programming language proficiency
- AWS cloud infrastructure (GCP a plus)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices
- CDN architecture and operations (Fastly, Akamai, Google Media CDN, Cloudflare)
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, TLS, caching, load balancing, routing)
- Datadog or similar observability platform configuration
- Cloud and application security principles
