About this role
Crunchyroll seeks a Software Engineer III to design and own backend services powering video playback at scale, with a focus on content protection, security, and streaming reliability. You'll collaborate across teams to reduce latency, improve security, and enhance the platform supporting 100+ million anime fans globally.
What you'll do
- Design and build backend services and APIs for secure, reliable video playback
- Own projects improving content protection, security services, and playback latency
- Debug and resolve moderate to complex production issues in video delivery and entitlement systems
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response to improve operational reliability
- Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features
- Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation
