About this role
Datadog seeks a Systems Engineer to own enterprise platforms (Zendesk, Jira, Confluence) that support 1,200+ technical staff. You'll design and build solutions across configuration, integration, and code—including AI-powered features—to solve business problems and drive operational leverage for the Technical Solutions organization.
What you'll do
- Own enterprise platform lifecycles end-to-end, from understanding business processes to designing solutions and measuring impact
- Build integrations, automations, and internal tools that scale effectiveness across 1,200+ technical experts
- Contribute targeted features to the Datadog codebase in partnership with Engineering teams
- Design AI-powered capabilities (intelligent routing, automated triage, agent-assisted workflows) into solutions from the start
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, maintaining and iterating on deployed systems
- Partner with Technical Solutions leaders to identify bottlenecks and engineer practical fixes

- Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript development
- Enterprise platform administration and integration (Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira, or similar)
- Full-stack capabilities: backend services, APIs, frontend, CI/CD pipelines
- AI coding tools (Copilot, Claude) and LLM/RAG/agent frameworks
- Systems thinking and architectural design for reliability and scalability
- Large codebase contribution with code review and observability practices
- Production software and web services experience
