People AI & Automation Engineer
About this role
Deepgram seeks an early-career engineer to build AI-powered workflows and automation systems that transform People Operations. You'll partner with the People team to replace manual, repetitive HR processes with intelligent agents, internal tools, and integrations that enable employees and managers to self-serve without constant People team intervention.
What you'll do
- Identify and design AI-powered automation opportunities across People Operations workflows
- Build AI agents and workflows that answer questions, gather information, and complete defined HR actions
- Integrate AI systems with HRIS, Slack, recruiting, performance, and compensation platforms
- Create AI-first onboarding experiences and internal tools for employees and managers
- Establish human-in-the-loop controls, escalation paths, and safeguards for sensitive People processes
- Prototype rapidly, test with real users, measure impact, and iterate based on feedback
