Manufacturing Development Engineer (All levels)
About this role
Divergent seeks a Manufacturing Development Engineer to productionize and scale advanced manufacturing equipment, including laser powder bed fusion machines and automated assembly systems. You'll own the translation of complex machine technology from proof of concept through production, ensuring reliable, repeatable manufacturing execution.
What you'll do
- Own manufacturing readiness of complex machine systems from development through commissioning, validation, and production handoff
- Develop technical understanding of assigned systems including architecture, controls, failure modes, and interactions
- Lead development of work instructions, SOPs, test procedures, and process documentation
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to improve reliability and uptime
- Partner with design, automation, software, operations, and quality teams to improve manufacturability
- Drive DFM, DFA, tolerance, tooling, and cycle time improvements
