About this role
Divergent seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to productionize and scale advanced manufacturing equipment including laser powder bed fusion machines and automated assembly systems. This role owns the transition of complex machine technology from proof of concept through reliable, scalable production, requiring deep technical expertise in system architecture, controls, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
What you'll do
- Serve as primary engineering owner for factory modules, subsystems, and processes from development through production handoff
- Develop and execute work instructions, SOPs, test procedures, and technical documentation for complex machine systems
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve machine reliability and uptime
- Drive design for manufacturability, tolerance, tooling, and cycle time improvements across assigned systems
- Partner with design, automation, software, operations, and quality teams to enhance manufacturability and execution
- Mentor engineers and technicians while maintaining high standards for technical documentation and ownership
