About this role

HRL Laboratories seeks an Embedded Systems Engineer to design and integrate RF and electromagnetic subsystems across a broad frequency spectrum for aerospace, automotive, and defense applications. You'll collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop state-of-the-art sensor solutions while contributing to proposal activities and technical publications.

What you'll do

  • Design, fabricate, integrate, and test RF and electromagnetic components operating from below 0.1 to 200+ GHz
  • Develop control and test software for complex embedded systems using C/C++, Python, and MATLAB
  • Support RF subsystem development for communication, radar, and electronic warfare applications
  • Prototype solutions using evaluation platforms and FPGA/DSP technologies like Xilinx Zynq
  • Solve customer problems and prepare technical briefings and written analyses
  • Contribute to proposal development and publish technical papers on innovations
